Hi,
Blue Tansy has some advice to help you maintain peace of mind and happiness.
It says,
“Don’t have patience for anything that makes you impatient.”
Hmm, maybe
Blue Tansy is being a little confusing here . . . let me help clarify its message!
Blue
Tansy maintains its peace of mind because it doesn’t tolerate any kind of irritation. Pain? No way! Allergies? No,
thank you. Bug bites and itching? Certainly not! Blue Tansy patiently, persistently works to calm these things. There’s
no reason to put up with them if you can calm them down.
That’s the inspiration behind
this Bug Bite Gel. The aloe, Blue Tansy, and Peppermint oil in this blend make it excellent for soothing the itch of a bug
bite, reducing swelling, and creating that gentle cooling feeling that can feel so good to inflamed or irritated areas.
(If you’ve ever used a bag of frozen peas to soothe pain or itchiness, you know what I mean!)
Blue Tansy’s Bug Bite Gel
- 10 ml aloe vera gel (Aloe barbadensis)
- 3
drops Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annuum)
- 3 drops Peppermint (Mentha × piperita)
Make this blend in a 10 ml roller-top bottle. (You can find these online at Aromatics International.)
Pour the 10 ml aloe vera gel into the bottle (or just fill it most of the way). Then add the
essential oils. Snap the roller-top into place, and you’re done! (Optionally, you can add Solubol dispersant to help
disperse the essential oils through the aloe. In that case, you’d use 9 ml aloe vera gel, and 1 ml Solubol.)
This blend is made in a water-based carrier (aloe vera gel) and no preservatives, so I suggest
making it fresh every few weeks.
Maybe you’re saying, “Gee, Andrea, thanks
for the Bug Bite Gel, but I’d rather not get bit by bugs in the first place!” I hear you! Try this Summer Relief Bug Spray I shared on The Aromahead Blog. It smells good to people, but bad to bugs!
Love,
Andrea
